Sustainability is more than just about eco-friendly fabrics or products. For Elite Labels, sustainability involves addressing the entire system through which the product is delivered as well as life cycle of a product, from where and how it is made.
With retail’s environmental impact front of mind for consumers and retailers alike, Elite Labels is committed to genuine sustainability throughout our supply chain; from the raw materials to the finished product and shipping.
We work closely with our manufacturing sites and suppliers around the world in order to achieve higher standards and ensure that Elite labels ethical principles are applied consistently in everyday working practice.
As FSC certified manufacturers, our clients can be confident that all of their materials are ethically sourced to ensure the sustainability of our forests and green spaces.
Through the help of various ethical auditing companies such as Fast Forward, we pride ourselves in building and maintaining ethical supply chains from the very beginning of your items journey.
We’re also Disney FAMA certified, meaning we are committed to continuously monitoring the safety and integrity of our products and reducing the environmental footprints of our supply chain.
We promote stringent governance and risk management programs, focused on mitigating risk and meeting external regulations and laws, keeping our workplaces a safer environment for each and every single employee.
Sustainability in retail is becoming more widely recognised as a source of competitive advantage that can help drive top-line growth. Our aim is for our customer base to grow whilst using less and being more ethical in its raw material choices. Elite Labels is determined to set the industry standard in sustainable production and packaging, including a bold strategy to reduce our carbon footprint by a third over the next 5 years.
According to a study, 62% of UK consumers prefer to buy from companies that are reducing their use of plastics and two thirds want greater transparency in how companies source their materials.
Elite Labels can offer retailers and clothing manufacturers a range of products using recycled and sustainable raw materials.
We are using recycled polyester from ‘post-consume’ plastic bottles to manufacture polyester woven labels. The plastic is regenerated through a non-chemical process. To prevent deforestation and reduce the average consumption of paper, our swing tags are sourced from various recyclable and sustainable papers which are FSC certified.
One area we are working on is the move to use fully recycled materials for the production of international wash care labels. The base yarn is developed using by-products of plastic bottles and converted into yarn. Currently we have over 20 different types of material we can use in the production of wash care labels.
