ADB Alarms continues to provide absolute protection for residential and commercial customers throughout the UK. Now run by Alan’s daughters, Sam and Sarah, our commitment to providing high-quality security systems with fantastic customer service is unwavering.

Samantha began her journey with the company in 2005 as a trainee installation and service engineer, steadily progressing to senior engineer, then engineering manager, and now serves as Engineer & Project Director. Sarah joined in 2011 as a trainee accountant and now holds the role of Finance & Operations Director.

Dad spent many years building a reputation for being trustworthy. We both stand by his mantra that ‘a client is not a number; they are part of our family’. Maintaining his success and reputation is at the heart of what we do today, and we are committed to getting to know our customers, building relationships based on honesty and trust, and never compromising on quality.

Our history

Absolute security for over 40 years

July 1980

Alan Bennett forms ADB Alarms

After completing his electrical apprenticeship at Rists Wires & Cables, Alan Bennett forms his own Burglar Alarm business with only a tool box and a £50 mini van from his garden shed. ADB Alarms Locks & Safes is born.

January 1985

ADB hires its first apprentice

Alan had established a firm foothold within Staffordshire and decided to take on the company’s first apprentice to help provide his services to an ever-growing client base.

February 1990

Expansion across the West Midlands

ADB Alarms expands from Stoke-on-Trent to other cities in the Midlands. The company diversifies into Police Monitored systems, looking after Post Offices and local Building Societies. ADB Alarms became a registered member of Security Systems & Alarm Inspection Board (SSAIB).

September 2006

ADB Alarms

Now with a growing customer base and loyal engineering team (including his daughter Samantha), the company became Limited. During this time, ADB diversified into Fire alarms, Access & CCTV, and through the growth of clients had extended services to North England & North Wales.

September 2010

ADB Alarms move to Nettlebank House

By 2010, ADB had obtained their own business premises and largely expanded their team (including Alan’s second Daughter, Sarah). The security industry moved into diverse technologies, and ADB becomes one of the first security companies to install and maintain wireless systems controlled remotely using a mobile app.

April 2017

Samantha & Sarah buys ADB Alarms

Alan decided it was time to step back and handed the company to Sam and Sarah with the ambition to grow their client base further and develop the services the company could offer.

January 2025

Serving commercial and residential clients nationally

Today, ADB Alarms operates throughout the UK with north and south offices and is recognised by many police and fire authorities, as well as insurance companies.
